YouthBank concept is based on the principle that young people are valuable for present and represent important resources for the future. Youth Bank’s mission is to combine potential, energy and creativity of young people in order to create opportunities for development and progress of communities and societies.

Young generation is the one that matters in countries that have emerging economies like Moldova. It implies changes, launches initiatives and shapes the future.

YouthBank gives young people a favorable environment in which they can share ideas, work together and make decisions regarding the community they belong to.

YouthBank Moldova, a program coordinated by the East Europe Foundation, was launched in 2010 in the towns Ialoveni, Cahul, Ungheni, following in 2013 with Soroca, Balti, Comrat and Varnita village.

Thus, over four years, YouthBank has expanded and is now present in Ialoveni, Soroca, Balti, Cahul, Stefan Voda, Floresti, Orhei and Varnita.

Annually, on average 15 young people aged between 16 and 22 years old from each city in Moldova where the YouthBank program is implemented, known as “community leaders”, transparently promote and manage a special fund for financing and implementation of projects by young people. It is a mechanism by which young people are encouraged in related activities: philanthropy, volunteering, civic initiative and responsibility.
